Distiller and wine maker Jason Heiligenberg tastes a sample of grape brandy after testing the alcohol content of a barrel at Huber's Orchard and Winery in Starlight on Thursday morning. Indiana House Bill 1293 passed last Tuesday and is headed to the senate. If the bill passes, Huber's will be able to expand their product line to include whiskey, bourbon, gin, and vodka. It will also allow them to serve complimentary samples of their products and sell them by the drink, bottle or case on site.
