FLOYD COUNTY —
After being closed for what the restaurant owner called “circumstances beyond our control,” both locations of Sam’s Food & Spirits — 800 Payne Koehler Road in New Albany and 724 Highlander Point in Floyds Knobs — are expected to reopen at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, according to owner Sam Anderson.
Both locations unexpectedly closed Tuesday. A sign placed on the door of the restaurants from the Indiana Department of Revenue stated that any retail transaction at the location constitutes a class B misdemeanor. However, Anderson what caused the issue has been corrected.
“We had a software problem in our credit card system and we wanted to make sure it was cleaned up and ready to go,” Anderson said Thursday.
Anderson said he has received several calls from customers concerned about the restaurant. He said he is happy that it will be “business as usual” again Friday.
