HARRISON COUNTY —
A New Albany man faces felony theft charges following his arrest Monday evening.
Charles “Rusty” McMillin, 42, of Jay Street, is charged with stealing a donation jar located on the counter at the Clark Gas and Food Mart in Palmyra. The jar was to help cover burial expenses for a man who recently died, according to a release from the Indiana State Police.
Through the ISP investigation, it was determined that McMillin had been in the convenience store Sunday when he took the donation jar.
He is being held in the Harrison County Jail. None of the donation money was recovered. The Palmyra Town Marshall’s Office assisted ISP in the investigation.
