Climate change seminar coming Monday to Clark 4-H grounds

CHARLESTOWN — Clark County’s Purdue Extension office is offering a series of video seminars concerning the affect of climate change on community planning.

The second part, in a series of seminars, will focus on Bartholomew County and how it is revising planning and zoning policies regarding flood plains and how Auburn is using its flood mitigation plan to reduce property damage, while utilizing the flood plain as a community strong point, according to a press release. This is an excellent opportunity for city and county leaders and planners to learn from the experiences of other communities.

The seminar will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at the Clark County Extension Office on the 4-H Fairgrounds, 9608 Ind. 62 in Charlestown. The sessions are free of charge, but advanced registration is required.

Contact Extension Educator David Hynes at 812-256-4591 to register or with questions.  If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, contact David or  888-EXT-INFO prior to the meeting
