A traffic stop Friday led to the discovery of a possible methamphetamine lab in Jeffersonville.
At 10:30 p.m. Friday on U.S. 31 at Lewis and Clark Parkway, Indiana State Police Sgt. Manville Nagle stopped a silver 2006 Jeep driven by 38-year-old Kevin Fessel. According to a state police report, K-9 Kilo sniffed around the vehicle and alerted troopers to the presence of narcotics.
Troopers searched the vehicle and found marijuana, methamphetamine, more than 3 grams of cocaine and several types of drug paraphernalia. Fessel was arrested and transported to the Michael L. Becher Adult Corrections Complex.
Trooper Katrina Smith obtained a search warrant for Fessel’s house in the 900 block of Sierra Court. Police located meth, drug paraphernalia and a large quantity of pseudoephedrine. They also located several precursors for manufacturing meth, according to the report.
He faces preliminary charges of dealing cocaine, dealing meth, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
