CHARLESTOWN —
Five Clark County residents have been arrested in the last few days as part of an ongoing investigation into prescription drug fraud.
Indiana State Police troopers, with the assistance of the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, served warrants issued last week in Clark County Superior Court No. 2.
A joint investigation with ISP, the Clarksville Police Department and Charlestown Police Department began in April when a doctor’s office in Charlestown was burglarized and blank prescription pads stolen, according to an ISP news release.
According to police, the stolen prescription pads were filled out for controlled substances and taken to several pharmacies in Clark County to be filled. As part of the investigation, police identified several people who had allegedly used the stolen prescription pads.
Daniel P. Chester, 43, of Charlestown; Jo Kay Yenawine, 38, of Charlestown; Juston Johnson, 33, of Charlestown; Jacob Coomer, 35, of Charlestown; and Daniel E. Blevins, 25, of Otisco, were arrested on charges of class D felony obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and class D felony possession of a controlled substance.
