JEFFERSONVILLE —
Jeffersonville-based Accent Marketing Services will host the Louisville Fund for the Arts’ annual Art-a-Thon fundraising telethon on Monday, Jan. 30, through Friday, Feb. 3, at its New Albany engagement center.
Volunteers will make phone calls asking for donations to Fund for the Arts and its efforts to support Louisville’s art scene in 2012. The Art-a-Thon is a major component of the Fund’s $9.2 million annual fundraising goal. A $200,000 matching grant has been established, with a total goal to be raised of $400,000 from the efforts at the telethon, according to a press release.
“As a company with an influence that spans both Southern Indiana and the Louisville Metro, Accent’s involvement with the Art-a-Thon is just one of the ways we look to give back to the communities where we live, work and have fun,” Accent Marketing Services CEO Tim Searcy said in the release. “The Fund for the Arts has played a vital role in enhancing so many lives in this region for over 50 years, and we are honored to help them continue their mission to champion the advancement of the arts in Louisville.”
The Art-a-Thon will be held in conjunction with the organization’s 2012 Arts Showcase and Campaign Kickoff, which is scheduled to take place Tuesday, Jan. 31, at The Brown Theatre in downtown Louisville. Mayor Greg Fischer and the Fund for the Arts’ Board of Directors will be on hand for performances from local artists whose work is supported by the Fund.
