Clark County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating after a man in Memphis called 911 to report he had been stabbed.
Sheriff Danny Rodden said there was a domestic situation at the man’s residence. He reportedly told dispatchers that he had been stabbed in his arm and hand. He said he would drive himself to Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, but officers stationed at the hospital said he never arrived.
Rodden said they have contacted all area hospitals but none had admitted a stabbing victim. Police also attempted to call the man’s cell phone number, but no one answered.
Rodden said it may have been a false report, but police continued to search the area for the man’s vehicle. They hope to speak to him about what happened, although they believe he may have driven to a relative’s residence in Louisville.
“[The woman at the man’s home] said he hit her with a keyboard and some stuff,” Rodden said. “She grabbed the first thing she saw, a knife, and swung at him. She wasn’t even sure if she hit him or not.”
The names of the two people involved in the incident were not released as of press deadline.
