JEFFERSONVILLE —
Surveyors will be coming door-to-door in Jeffersonville on Saturday to help the city secure grant funds.
The city has hired surveyors to collect data needed in order to meet certain income standards to be eligible for grant funds from the state, according to a press release.
If the grant funds are awarded the money will be used for a planned drainage project in the area, referred to as the Falls Landing Project. The plan is to install a retention basin at 9th Street and Indiana Avenue to help alleviate flooding in downtown Jeffersonville.
The grant the city is seeking is a $500,000 Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs grant
Surveyors will be going door-to-door along a corridor to Main Street, between 9th and 11th streets, and in an area along Interstate 65 from Court Avenue to Greenwood in Jeffersonville.
The surveyors will be carrying an identification card issued by the city and a University Research Consultants identification card with corresponding name and photo.
Residents may contact the Jeffersonville Police Department at 812-283-6633 to verify that the surveyors are performing work for the city.
