PLAINFIELD —
Duke Energy has named Pat More as its new south district manager, which covers Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison and Washington counties.
He replaces Kevin Hammersmith, who was killed in November in a car accident along Ind. 111 South in Floyd County.
“Kevin Hammersmith created a legacy of positive contributions to Southern Indiana, and I hope to continue that tradition,” More said in a press release. “Our company puts a high priority on service and support in the communities where we are privileged to do business.”
Duke Energy account manager Jeff Janes has been filling the position on an interim basis. Janes will now return full time to his account manager duties.
More, 59, joined Duke Energy in 1976 and has worked in engineering, operations, management and key accounts, along with community relations and economic development. Most recently, he served as the company’s east district manager.
More earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology from the University of Cincinnati in 1976. He has been married to his wife, Rosemary Shafer More, for 38 years and they have three grown children and three grandchildren. He plans to relocate to the Clarksville area in the near future.
Hammersmith started as a principle electrical engineer at Duke Energy in 1982 after graduating from Purdue University and served in various roles with the company prior to his death.
Duke Energy Indiana’s operations provide approximately 7,000 megawatts of owned electric capacity to approximately 790,000 customers, making it the state’s largest electric supplier.
