JEFFERSONVILLE —
The chief financial officer for Greater Clark County Schools was placed on suspension with pay Friday.
Tom Galovic said he doesn’t know why he was suspended. He said school board members Kevin Satterly and Mark Pavey, along with board president Christina Gilkey, brought some concerns regarding a board policy violation to superintendent Stephen Daeschner last week while Galovic was at a conference.
Galovic said though an investigation was initiated, no details were given to him as to what policy he violated.
“They [the board] will tell you it’s a personnel issue and I’ll tell you it’s a personal issue, like it was with Dr. Daeschner,” Galovic said.
Daeschner and Gilkey refused to comment, stating the matter was a personnel issue. Daeschner was informed last month that his contract as superintendent at Greater Clark would not be renewed.
Galovic was hired by the district in August 2010, according to a Greater Clark personnel report, and has a background as a principal.
