CLARKSVILLE —
The former Clarksville chiropractor who has already been found guilty in Floyd County for raping a young female family member, has pleaded guilty to child molesting and other charges in Clark County.
Robert Matthew Nolan, 41, was sentenced to 22 years in prison and eight years of probation in the Floyd County case. In Clark County, he had pleaded guilty to child molesting, a class C felony, sexual misconduct with a minor, a class B felony, and child seduction, a class D felony. He also admitted guilt in the other Clark County cases, where four patients at his chiropractor practice said he inappropriately touched them at Nolan Chiropractic Center. The sentence in the Clark County plea agreement is for 30 years total, with eight years suspended to strict terms of probation, to run concurrent to his Floyd County sentence.
Prosecutor Jeremy Mull said the minor victim in this case is the same one from the Floyd County case.
“The victim has moved on with her life and did not wish to go through an additional trial like she did in Floyd County,” Mull said. “This plea agreement holds him accountable for the crimes he committed [in Clark County].”
Mull said the agreement also has Nolan pleading guilty to the misconduct with the other four patients.
“I wanted to make sure those ladies got the satisfaction of seeing him sentenced for those too,” Mull said.
Nolan’s final sentencing date is scheduled for July 9.
Jennifer Culotta, Nolan’s attorney, said it was a difficult decision for Nolan to plead guilty, but he made the decision that was in his best interest and that will also put closure to this case.
