CLARKSVILLE —
A Louisville man was arrested for selling heroin in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot Tuesday, said Clarksville police.
Terrell Lamont Roberts, 28, of 1217 Preston St., is charged with dealing in cocaine or narcotic drug — 3 grams or more, a class A felony; possession cocaine or schedule I or II narcotic drug — 3 grams or more, a class C felony; and maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony, in Clark Circuit Court No. 2.
Officers reported seizing seven grams of heroin and $850 in cash during the incident.
Roberts was arrested after he conducted a drug deal from a vehicle in the parking lot on Greentree Boulevard, Clarksville Police Maj. Darrell Rayborn said. Rayborn said the arrest follows several weeks of investigation into Roberts’ activities by police officers.
“[Roberts] is known for a long history of dealing drugs,” he said.
Rayborn declined to comment on how often he believes Roberts crosses the Ohio River to sell drugs in Clarksville. He said he doesn’t believe that Roberts keeps a split residence in Southern Indiana. A search of prior court records shows Roberts once lived in Jeffersonville and has faced numerous drug and other charges in Clark County.
If found guilty of each of the above charges, Roberts could face between 221⁄2 to 61 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.
