Man wanted in Texas arrested
A man with active arrest warrants in Brown County, Texas, was arrested by Indiana State Police troopers in Jeffersonville on Monday.
Ernest A. Willborn, 46, reportedly from May, Texas, is wanted for aggravated battery and theft.
He was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. on Utica Pike at Loop Road and was transported to the Clark County Jail, where he awaits extradition.

Groups hosting health fairs
Three Clark County groups are coming together to hold two upcoming free Fitness Fairs.
Communities in Schools of Clark County, Clark Memorial Hospital and New Hope Services Inc. have partnered to host the fairs.
The fairs will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — one April 10 at Green Acres Elementary School in Clarksville and the other April 24 at Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg.
“In an effort to provide health and wellness information to more than 7,500 students and their families, we are excited to offer this free event to the community,” said Cathy Graninger, executive director of Communities in Schools Clark County, in a news release. “Area vendors and community resource providers are committed to being a part of the event and we applaud them for participating.”
Screenings and activities are planned for each location, including:
• Heart health screenings
• Family BMI (Body Mass Index)
• Vision screenings
• Exercise information
• Dental information
• Nutrition and healthy snacking information

Sellersburg
Legion hosts Easter party, egg hunt
The Sellersburg American Legion will host a Easter party and egg hunt for children from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27 at 412 N. New Albany St., Sellersburg.
There will be an egg hunt for ages 1 to 12, games and prizes, hot dogs and chips, child identity kits from the Indiana State Police, and photos with the Easter bunny.
The event is free and open to the public.

Group hosting fondue card party
Theta Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Psi Sorority will hold its annual fondue card party at 7 p.m. April 8, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.

Derby Festival Spelling Bee finals
The 17th-annual Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee finals will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Frazier International History Museum, Ninth and Main streets, Louisville.
Students from Kentucky and Southern Indiana counties will compete for bragging rights and savings bonds. For the second year in a row, the champion of this year’s spelling bee will receive a $10,000 savings bond.
The next four top finishers also will receive savings bonds — $5,000 for second place, $3,000 for third, $1,500 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth. The prize money will be provided by the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation — the Derby Festival’s charitable arm.
The 60 qualifiers represent 57 different counties. In addition to a $10,000 saving bond, the champion will receive a Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary, an Amazon.com gift card and a trophy.

Derby Dinner presents Jason Petty
Derby Dinner Playhouse will present Jason Petty in concert, performing “Hank & My Honky-Tonk Heroes,” at 6 p.m. March 29 at the theater, 525 Marriott Drive, Clarksville.
The show is part of the 2010 concert series. Petty brings Hank Williams’ timeless music back to life in this insightful and energetic show. He also pays tribute to others who were influenced by Williams, and who influenced him, such as Jimmie Rodgers, the Carter Family, Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, George Jones and others.
Petty won an Obie award in 2003 for outstanding actor for his work in “Hank Williams: Lost Highway.” Doors and buffet open at 6 p.m. with the concert at 7:30 p.m.
