Legislators hosting town hall meeting Saturday
State Reps. Ed Clere, R-New Albany and Rhonda Rhoads, R-Corydon, and state Sen. Ron Grooms, R-Jeffersonville, will be hosting a town hall meeting from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Georgetown Elementary School, 8800 High St., Georgetown.

Gallery on Pearl to offer new exhibit
Works from artists in the Floyd County Crit Club will be featured in a new exhibit opening Feb. 3 at The Gallery on Pearl
The exhibit is titled “12x12,” and will be on display through March 16. The opening reception will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Gallery on Pearl, which is located inside the White House Centre at 222 Pearl St. in New Albany.

NA-FC Friends book sale Jan. 21
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, the Friends of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library will hold their annual science fiction and fantasy book sale in the library’s Annex Building, in the parking lot at the corner of Scribner Drive and Spring Street.
All books in those sections will be discounted by 50 percent. Regular prices are $1 for hardbacks; 50 cents for videos, DVDs, paperbacks and CDs; 25 cents for audio book cassette tapes; 10 cents for magazines and music cassette tapes; and 5 cents for vinyl records. Children’s books are available at prices of $1.00 or less.

The Clark County Tea Party meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.

Free showing of movie coming up
There will be a free showing of the new movie “Courageous” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, in the worship center of First Southern Baptist Church, Ettel Lane, Clarksville. Child care will be provided for children ages birth through 5 years old.
Filled with action and drama, “Courageous” focuses on everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children. The movie is rated PG-13 for some violence and thematic elements. There is no admission charge. Call for free child care at 812-288-8217.
