JEFFERSONVILLE —
A 49-year-old Jeffersonville man was found stabbed to death in his home Tuesday evening.
Eric Krupp, who lived alone at 330 Division St., died of multiple stab wounds throughout his body, Jeffersonville Police Department Detective Todd Hollis said.
“We’re still investigating what the motive behind the homicide was, whether there was some other criminal intent [for example, a robbery], or if the victim was the target,” Hollis said. “We’ve spoken with neighbors, friends and we’re trying to piece together a motive.”
Hollis said they do not yet know if there was forced entry into the home. He also declined to say whether the murder weapon had been recovered.
“We’re still real early in the investigation, so we don’t have a lot of information yet,” he said.
Clark County Coroner Huck Coots said Krupp was found in his living room by his mother when she stopped by the house to check on him. Coots said he could not comment on how long the body had been there.
An autopsy was performed at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville Wednesday afternoon.
Hollis said they have been tracking down several leads, but no suspects have been named yet.
Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call JPD at 812-283-6633 or the anonymous tip line at 812-218-TIPS
