SELLERSBURG —
An accident on U.S. 31, at the entrance of Rock Creek Community Academy, sent one woman to Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services of Friday morning.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department Kristina Beyl, 25, was turning into the school’s entrance and was struck by Chrysler Sebring driven by Cody Brackett, 20, who was heading south. Following the collision, Brackett’s Sebring went over the road embankment and crashed into a small utility pole.
Clark County Sheriff’s Department Maj. Chuck Adams said, according to the accident report, Brackett’s vehicle did not have its headlights on.
“We’re just lucky they were both airbag-equipped,” he said of the vehicles.
Brackett was uninjured and refused treatment at the scene. Beyl was transported to Floyd Memorial Hospital complaining about non-life threatening head and leg injuries.
