CLARKSVILLE —
An altercation between residents of Courtyard Square Apartments on Green Tree Boulevard early Wednesday morning resulted in one man being stabbed at or near the apartment complex.
Clarksville police responded to Courtyard Square about 12:30 a.m. and discovered Rafael Delcid-Lara, 35, bleeding heavily with a wound to the side of his head and several large, deep cuts on his right hand. Police were informed by a witness at the scene that the man who allegedly assaulted Delcid-Lara could be found in one of the apartments in Courtyard Square, according to a Clarksville Police report.
Police and Delcid-Lara went to the apartment provided by the witness.
Officers requested all the people in the residence to exit, at which time Delcid-Lara pointed out 31-year-old Alejandro Javier Blas, also known as Antonio Blas Rodrigues, as the person who attempted to stab him with a knife and in the act cut his right hand several times, according to the report.
Blas was taken into custody and charged with battery with a weapon, a class A felony.
Delcid-Lara was taken to Jewish Hospital in Louisville, and Blas was taken to the Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex.
A maximum sentence for a class A felony is 50 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.
