LOUISVILLE —
Clark and Floyd counties are on the edge of a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service, but forecasters are predicting areas to the south with get the worst of the winter weather tonight.
A “hazardous weather outlook” has been issued for parts of Southern Indiana — including Clark and Floyd counties — for tonight. A very light mix of snow is possible late tonight through early Wednesday. Some slick spots are expected, but no major travel concerns.
However, the weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for areas around Clark and Floyd counties, including Harrison County in Indiana and Jefferson County in Kentucky.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected there through 9 a.m. Wednesday, with accumulations of a half inch to 2 inches in some locations.
“The heaviest band of frozen precipitation may shift north or south of its current forecast position,” the weather advisory reads. “Depending on subtle changes in temperatures at just above the surface, a northward shift would bring higher accumulations into the advisory area.”
