JEFFERSONVILLE —
Jeffersonville police arrested a Louisville man during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon, after he was accused of breaking into a home, battering a female and fleeing from the residence.
Anthony M. Johnson, 27, faces multiple charges after a woman claimed that he broke into her Spring Street home about noon. The woman contacted authorities, and police were able to locate the vehicle driven by Johnson near the intersection of Walnut and Chestnut streets.
Johnson was known to the victim, but police did not confirm the nature of their relationship.
Johnson has been preliminarily charged with strangulation, burglary, possession of a handgun without a permit and domestic battery.
Police could not determine the class of charges as of press time.
