Air quality alert issued
An Air Quality Alert has been declared for the Louisville metro area for Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20.
The Air Quality Index is expected to be in the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range.” The index is expected to reach 104 for ozone. Sensitive groups include children, older adults, active adults and anyone with heart or lung ailments.
Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District advises people to help with Air Quality Alert days by: avoiding idling their cars; sharing a ride; delaying mowing until later hours; and combining errands into one trip.
CLARKSVILLE
Church hosting free community dinner
Howard Park Christian Church, 450 W. Norwood Ave., Clarksville, will host a free community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at the church.
This month’s menu is barbecue chicken, baked beans, potato salad, fruit and dessert. All are welcome. For more information, call 812-283-6547.

BMV announces Memorial Day schedule
All BMV license branches will be closed Saturday, May 26, through Monday, May 28, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
All license branches will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 29.
