CLARK COUNTY —
An Elizabeth man faces three felonies in Clark County after police say he stole syringes and a tourniquet and forged a prescription from a physician’s office.
Robert Baumgardner, 27, was arrested on a warrant in Harrison County on Wednesday morning by Indiana State Police. The warrant was issued out of the Clark County Circuit Court No. 3.
The warrant stems from an investigation that began Aug. 16 when ISP received a call from a Clark County pharmacist about a suspected stolen forged prescription for methadone. The prescription was written out to Baumgardner, according to an ISP release.
During the investigation, it was determined by investigators that Baumgardner had been in possession of the stolen forged prescription and had taken it to the Clark County pharmacy to be filled.
Baumgardner was already in Harrison County Jail on unrelated charges.
He was charged with the class D felonies of with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, possession of a controlled substance and theft.
