JEFFERSONVILLE —
A search warrant executed by the Jeffersonville Police Department Drug Investigation Unit netted three arrests, including one suspect previously convicted on federal drug charges.
Police on Friday seized 25 grams of crack cocaine, more than 400 grams of marijuana, a handgun and $1,500 in cash during a search of a home located at 429 Walnut St. in Jeffersonville. Police arrested Donald McGuire, Rosita McGuire and James Johnson.
Donald McGuire is charged with possession of more than three grams of cocaine with intent to deliver, a class A felony, possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony, and maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony.
Donald McGuire was convicted in federal court in 2002 for dealing in cocaine and illegal handgun possession, according to JPD Detective Todd Hollis.
Rosita McGuire and Johnson are both charged with possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana with intent to deliver and maintaining a common nuisance, both class D felonies. Police say the investigation of the home was initiated in response to residents’ complaints and information regarding drug activity at the residence.
Jeffersonville Animal Control was called to the home upon the discovery of nine dogs. The pit bulls were removed for safety and as a result of the violation of a Jeffersonville ordinance prohibiting more than four dogs per household.
