Snow is expected to start late this afternoon and into the evening, with expected accumulations of about 1 inch in Clark and Floyd counties, the National Weather Service reported.
The most likely time for accumulating snowfall is between 6 p.m. and midnight. Because surface temperatures are expected to remain above freezing, accumulation primarily will be on grass and elevated surfaces.
Also, west to southwest winds will gust up to 35 mph, making visibility difficult at times.
There will be a 40 percent chance of rain and snow showers Thursday, with a high near 40. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-30s through the weekend.
