Tea Patriots host Clark County sheriff

City Pride hosts River Breeze event
River Breeze, a wine tasting event, sponsored by City Pride, Jeffersonville’s beautification committee, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 on RiverStage, located at the foot of Spring Street at Riverside Drive, Jeffersonville.
The event is open to adults 21 and older. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and are available at the mayor’s office at City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court. Call 812-285-6400 for more information on the event.

Taylor Memorial scramble set
The sixth-annual Hannah Taylor Memorial Golf Scramble will be Sept. 17 at Wooded View Golf Course, 2404 Greentree Blvd. North, Clarksville, with a deadline to register of Sept. 14.
Area businesses can sponsor the event of $100 or donate a door prize.
Entry is $60 per person and includes 18-hole scramble, cart, Texas Roadhouse food, drinks and door prizes.

IUS hosts auditions for ‘Our Town’
The Theatre Department at Indiana University Southeast will host open auditions for its fall 2010 production of Thornton Wilder’s timeless American classic play, “Our Town,” at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 to 12 in the Robinson Theater of the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the IUS campus, 4201 Grant Line Road, New Albany.
Auditions are open to anyone in the Southern Indiana and Louisville area. Roles for 17 males, seven females and extras are available. Those auditioning should prepare a one-minute monologue of any type.

LOUISVILLE
Alzheimer’s Association hosts walk
The Alzheimer’s Association will host its 2010 Memory Walk at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at Waterfront Park’s Great Lawn on the Ohio River in Louisville. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants can choose two routes, one is a half-mile long and the other is one and a half miles long.
This annual event helps raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease in Kentucky, and is organized by the Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Louisville walk is one of nearly a dozen being organized in the Chapter’s service area this year. Register to be a team captain or make a donation.
