STANTON, NEB. —
Northeast Nebraska authorities say they’ve found a vehicle believed to have been used by an Indiana murder suspect.
The vehicle was found in Stanton County after a national search, according to a report from newsgathering partner WLKY-TV in Louisville. It will be checked for evidence in the cases against 54-year-old William Clyde Gibson, of New Albany.
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office says the current owners didn’t know about the vehicle’s possible ties to Gibson. The vehicle originally was stolen in 2002 from a Louisville dealership and subsequently owned by several different people across the Midwest, according to the report. Investigators think Gibson used the vehicle to dispose of a body.
Gibson is charged with murdering three women in Indiana’s Floyd County, including the 2002 stabbing death of a Florida woman who was visiting the area. Not-guilty pleas have been entered for him.
