The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is still looking for one individual suspected in an armed robbery, while court records show another fugitive made a court appearance last month.
In December 2006, Elizabeth Ann Vetter and two acquaintances allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint for Percocet pills at a White Castle alongside 10th Street in Jeffersonville, according to a probable-cause affidavit. Jeffersonville Police Department officers found the gun purportedly used in the robbery in Vetter’s child’s pillow.
She has been arrested and had a court hearing last month.
In addition to the Clark County Sheriff’s Most Wanted list this month, The Evening News is publishing a list of fugitives the Charlestown Police Department needs help finding.
Just because a person has been charged with a crime does not mean he or she is guilty. Many of the people on this list were arrested but failed to show up for court hearings.
Police recommend that residents never try to personally apprehend a suspect. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of William Kendall Smith (see profile below), they are asked to call Detective Randy R. Burton with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department at 812-283-4471 or 812-285-6338. If someone prefers to remain anonymous, they may leave a message at the department’s tip line, which is not traced, at 812-280-CCSO (2276).
