The Borden Valley Day Festival is scheduled for June 13 at the town’s Community Park.
Events include a parade, car show, fish fry sponsored by the Borden Lion’s Club, Cissell funnel cakes, various booths, queen contest, community walk/run, flag ceremony performed by local Boy Scouts, kids games and a hot air balloon launch.
Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day and will include the Flash Bak Band, the Daly’s, Faye Martin and bands from by Jimmy’s Music Center Rock School.
Registration forms for the car show and walk/run can be picked up at businesses around Borden, including: HomeTown Express, The Liquor Store, New Washington State Bank and Brewer’s General Store.

Make registration checks payable to the Town of Borden and mail to Town of Borden, c/o Borden Valley Day Festival, P.O. Box 125, Borden, IN, 47106. Proceeds benefit the Community Park operating fund.
Events include:
• 8 a.m. — 5K Community Walk/Run starting at the Borden Community Park. Each participant will receive a Borden Valley Day Festival T-shirt and participation medal. Fees are $15 for early registration and $20 the day of. For more information, contact Jamie Martin at: jamesgmartin18@hotmail.com
• 10 a.m. — Parade starting at Borden High School and running along Ind. 60 ending at the Borden Community Park. For more information, contact Susan Williams at 502-681-0629 or 967-2677.

• 11 a.m. — Car show – Each participant will receive a Borden Valley Day Festival T-Shirt and dash plate with festival logo and date. Categories are street rod (pre-1948) and street machine (post-1948). Awards will be best in show; best original stock and most distance traveled. Fees are $15 per car. • 11:15 a.m. — National flag changing of Colors performed by the local Boy Scout troop at the Veterans Memorial
• Noon — Entertainment begins and will run throughout the day.
• 1 and 3 p.m. — Kids’ games for age groups 4 to 6; 7 to 8; and 9 to 10, including a sack race, balloon toss and wheelbarrow race. Prizes and participation medals will be awarded.

VIDEO: 'Ring of fire' solar eclipse

Rebuild Marysville event raises money for town hit by tornado
Kirsty Travelstead of Marysville explained that as of Saturday morning, more than 300 T-shirts had been sold. For the event they had hopes of raising at least $5,000 from the T-shirts, food sales and the grill raffle.
