The Charlestown City Council met briefly Monday evening.
The agenda was very short because the city held a special meeting last week in order to move forward on a $50,000 grant being awarded through the state of Indiana to allow Ball State University to conduct a study in Charlestown that will help the city create a strategic economic development plan.
No action on the grant was taken at Monday’s meeting, but the city council did pass one unrelated ordinance.
Ordinance 2010-OR-4 allowed for the Charlestown City Court Clerk Kim Rouff to move from part-time to a full-time position. She will receive the same hourly rate, but her hours per week will increase from 32 to 40, said Mayor Bob Hall.
Funding to pay for the increased hours will come out of the city’s general fund, he said.
The ordinance was unanimously approved on its first and second and final readings.
