Man charged with child molesting in Clark County

Suspect arrested by JPD in Terre Haute on warrant

A man charged with 11 counts of child molesting in Clark County was arrested in Terre Haute on Tuesday, according to media reports.

Ralph Hughett Sr., 59, of Rosedale, will be extradited to the Michael L. Becher Adult Corrections Complex in Jeffersonville.

According to WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, Jeffersonville Police Department Officers arrested Hughett on Tuesday for molesting two female family members.

An arrest warrant was issued last week. Hughett was charged with five class A felonies and six class C felonies. He faces 112 to 348 years in prison if convicted of all counts.

The offenses allegedly occurred between 2000 and 2004. Hughett is expected to have an initial hearing in Clark County Superior Court No. 1 later this week. He will be held without bond.
