Jeffersonville Main Street Inc. is hosting the fourth annual D*A*S*H 47130 5K at 9:30 a.m. and Veterans Tribute at 9:15 a.m. Nov. 7, beginning and ending in Warder Park, at the corner of Spring Street and Court Avenue in Jeffersonville.
The event begins in Warder Park with a tribute to veterans, then participants can make their way to Spring Street for the start of the 5K. People participate in the D*A*S*H for various reasons: some are competitive runners, others are there to support their community and some are there to honor a veteran they know by wearing that person's name on their back as they run, walk or roll the 3.1 mile course.

Forum helps Hispanic parents stay involved with education
Angelica Perez, family services adviser for Head Start, said it is important for children to learn English at a young age. She has seen the Hispanic population in Clark County grow and said there is an increased need for English Second Language programs.
