The body found in the Ohio River on Tuesday has been identified as 36-year-old Eric Harmon, of Louisville, Floyd County Coroner Leslie Knable said.
A missing persons report was filed for Harmon on Nov. 1.
“He matches the description of a person believed to have jumped off the [Clark Memorial] Bridge on Oct. 30,” Knable said.
Evidence in the case appears to point to suicide.
A deckhand at the R. Gallagher Generating Station near Jackson Street in New Albany reportedly saw a body in the river just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Knable said the body may have floated to the surface after barges in the area were moved.
The family, which is from Georgia, has been notified, Knable said.

The Indiana Court of Appeals heard the respective oral arguments on the town of Sellersburg’s effort to annex the Covered Bridge Subdivision and the Willows on Wednesday.
