Bring a favorite recipe to share or discuss a book with the Charlestown-Clark County Public Library’s luncheon group Jan. 7 at the library, 51 Clark Road, Charlestown.
The Coffee-break with Cookbooks group invite participants to bring a recipe and samples of their favorite light and tasty recipes to share at 9:30 a.m. in the library’s meeting room. The Book-a-Luncheon will discuss “The Crying Tree” by Naseem Rakha from 12:15 to 1 p.m. at the library.

Class of ’64 to meet for lunch
The Jeffersonville High School class of 1964 will have an informal luncheon at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tubby’s Pizza in Quartermaster Station in Jeffersonville.

The American Red Cross encourages eligible individuals to join the nationwide family of volunteers and make a resolution to donate blood for patients in need this January, National Blood Donor Month. The following drives are being held in the area:

Clark County Health Department offers H1N1Vaccination Clinics
The Clark County Health Department will offer H1N1 Vaccination Clinics for Clark County residents of any age, from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, and again on Jan. 11, and 13, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 9 and 16, at the former K-Mart store, 1416 Blackiston Mill Road, Clarksville.
Consent forms will need to be filled out for each person. This form is available in Spanish and English online at clarkhealth.net for those who wish to print and fill out prior to coming to the clinic.

Ivy Tech hosts spring registration
Ivy Tech Community College of Southern Indiana will host an open registration for its spring 2010 semester from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 5, at its campus, 8204 Ind. 311, at Interstate 265 and Exit 9, Sellersburg.
This event is open to new and current students. To attend, all new students should have completed the admissions process.
Additionally, Ivy Tech will have advisers on hand to assist with registration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 6; from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 7; and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 8 in Room B20. Classes for the spring semester begin Jan. 11.

Patoka Lake hosts Eagle Watch
Experience the world of eagles with indoor and outdoor programs at Patoka Lake from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 9 at Patoka Lake.
Join Aron Showalter, Patoka Lake wildlife specialist and crew, as they travel to hot spots for eagles and possibly view them in the wild places around the reservoir.
Enjoy a visual journey with DNR Monroe Lake Wildlife Specialist Rex Watters, as he shares his experiences regarding the 1980s Eagle Reintroduction Program and his ongoing adventures including rescue operations.
The program fee is $5 per person for 6 years of age and older; and free for 5 years of age and younger.
