Public hearing is April 10

The Clarksville Town Council will hold a public comment meeting regarding the Lewis and Clark Parkway/Brown’s Station Way overpass at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10 in the council chambers at Clarksville Town Hall, 2000 Broadway.



NEW ALBANY

FMH holding scrub sale Wednesday

Floyd Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting an April uniform sale by Gould’s Discount Medical, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., April 11, in classrooms 1 and 2 in the Paris Education Center at the Hospital, 1850 State St., New Albany.

A percentage of the sales will go to the auxiliary for their many auxiliary projects at the hospital. Call Volunteer Services at 812-948-6734 for more information.



Community dinner is Sunday

Howard Park Christian Church, 450 W. Norwood Ave., Clarksville, is hosting a free community dinner, 5 to 6:30 p.m., April 15, at the church.

 The menu is chicken and broccoli casserole, stewed tomatoes, parsley noodles, fruit and dessert. Meet new people and enjoy homemade cooking and it’s all free. For more information call 812-283-6547.



Herb and vegetable sale is April 19

The Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services Green Team and Auxiliary will host an herb and vegetable sale, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.,  on Thursday, April 19, in the hospital’s main lobby, with all proceeds benefiting the Floyd Memorial Auxiliary.

 Plants are being provided by Graf’s Greenhouse in Sellersburg, and will include a variety of popular herbs and vegetables. Herbs will be priced at $4 for one large pot, while vegetables will be $2 for a three-pack of small plants. Cash only.  



Student Ministry hosting fundraiser

The Crossing Christian Church’s 24-7 Student Ministry is hosting a spaghetti dinner and movie night, 6:30 p.m., April 14, to raise funds for their annual trip to Wilmore, Ky., for the three-day Ichthus Christian Music Festival.

The fundraiser will consist of a spaghetti dinner with salad, bread, dessert and drink served by the youth and feature the movie “We Bought A Zoo” for $10 for adults and $5 for kids (10 and younger).

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the movie directly following. This event is a family-friendly event and will be at the church, 3602 Northgate Court, Suite 9, New Albany.

Open house will mark store’s anniversary

Sugar Maples, 109 W. Maple St., Jeffersonville, will sponsor an open house in celebration of the sixth anniversary of the business, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 27.



Weight loss seminar is April 17

Clark Memorial Hospital Bariatric Weight Loss Program is hosting a free information seminar, 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 17, in the Kathryn Raines Education and Conference Center at the hospital, 1220 Missouri Ave., Jeffersonville.

Physicians Brice Hamilton and Daniel MacMillan, of Surgical Associates Southern Indiana, will present information on obesity and the laparoscopic procedure. Carolyn McKee, RN, bariatric coordinator will share about the benefits of the comprehensive follow-up program at Clark Memorial and some basic insurance information and guidelines.

Optimists prepare for yard sale
