Program upcoming on identity theft
Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin will be answering questions about identity theft at a special-interest programs day Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Clark County Purdue Cooperative Extension Service.
Following the presentation, there will be an informational program on Medicare and Medicaid insurance, which will address some of the changes in Medicare.
The presentation on identity theft will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. and the Medicare and Medicaid program will be from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Both programs will be at the Purdue Extension Office, 9608 Ind. 62, in Charlestown.

Jazz concert coming to school
Wesley United Methodist Church, Jeffersonville, will sponsor an evening of jazz and elegance featuring David Wells and Friends at 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, at Clarksville High School, 800 High School Drive, Clarksville. Church hosting pancake supper
Chapel Hill Christian Church, 6940 Chapel Hill Road, Floyds Knobs, will sponsor a Lenten pancake and sausage supper at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19, in the church fellowship hall. The church is located three miles north of Navilleton Road, off U.S. 150.

Aglow meeting set for Monday
An Aglow meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 20, at Covenant Community Fellowship, 727 Rolling Creek Drive, New Albany — off Grant Line Road across from Aldi.
Prayer time is 6:15 to 6:30 p.m., and the speaker will be Diana Scott, area team president for Southern Indiana Aglow.
Book sale at the library
The Friends of the New Albany Library will hold the annual Presidents’ Day Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, in the library’s Annex Building at the corner of Spring Street and Scribner Drive.
Books in the biography section will be discounted by 50 percent. A large number of children’s biographies about past presidents from Washington to Bush will be available at bargain prices. Regular prices are $1 for hardbacks; 50 cents for videos and DVDs, paperbacks and CDs; 25 cents for audio book cassette tapes; 10 cents for magazines and music cassette tapes; and 5 cents for vinyl records. Children’s books are available at prices of $1 or less.

Annual turkey meeting coming up
The National Wild Turkey Federation, River Ridge Longbeards Chapter, will hold its annual hunting heritage banquet and fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church, 2605 W. St. Joseph Road, Sellersburg.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. Single tickets are $55; couples ticket, $75 and sponsor ticket, $300. Children 10 and younger are free.

Kiwanis raising funds with meal
The Jeffersonville Kiwanis Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, at Beef O’ Brady’s, 1450 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville.
Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from any Kiwanis member and will be available at the door. Each ticket includes admittance for one person and all you can eat pancakes, juice and coffee. Funds will be used to provide a scholarship for a deserving Jeffersonville High School student.

Black history program coming up
In recognition of Black History Month, the Jeffersonville Township Public Library, 211 E. Court Ave., Jeffersonville, will offer an African American Genealogy Class from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 18, in the Gates Computer Lab at the library.
This hands-on class will be conducted by former history teacher Sharon Zimmerman, assistant reference librarian.
