Drug arrest made following anonymous tip

ISP finds meth, stolen motorcycle in Scott County home

SCOTT COUNTY — Two men are in the Scott County Detention Center after they were found by Indiana State Police in a Lexington home where a methamphetamine lab was located.

A resident of the home, James I. Golden, 28, of 8006 Mace Road, and Barry R. Wicker, 34, also of Lexington, were both preliminarily charged by ISP. Troopers responded to the home shortly after midnight Thursday, after an anonymous call was received that there was possibly an active methamphetamine lab at the address.

“After troopers arrived at the residence and were speaking to one of the occupants they could smell a strong chemical odor coming from inside,” ISP reported. During a subsequent search of the home, troopers found remnants of a methamphetamine lab, methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia.

As troopers conducted the search, a stolen 2006 Honda motorcycle was located in the basement of the home. ISP reported the motor bike was in the process of being disassembled and repainted. The motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Scott County in November.

ISP reported the Scott County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.

Golden was preliminarily charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance. Wicker was preliminarily charged with visiting a common nuisance. Goodin could not produce the class of charges.
