> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a hazardous weather outlook for parts of South Central Indiana and Central Kentucky, including Clark and Floyd Counties.
In addition to the heat and humidity that will continue this afternoon with highs reaching at least the mid-90s, afternoon heat index values are expected to exceed 100 degrees, according to the weather service forecast.
Scattered to possibly numerous storms could move southeast into the region late this afternoon or evening. There is a 30 percent chance of storms bringing brief heavy rain and gusty winds to the region, along with cloud to ground lightning and occurrences of damaging winds may develop, according to the reports.
Wednesday’s high is expected to reach 98 degrees, while temperatures for the weekend will cool to about 90 for a high. The best chance or rain will come Thursday night, at 60 percent.
