One Indiana U.S. Senate seat; all U.S. House of Representatives seats; 25 State Senate seats; all State House of Representative seats; the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney’s office; The Clark County Sheriff’s Department; Clark County clerk, auditor, recorder, treasurer, coroner, surveyor, assessor, one commissioner and two county council seats are among those up for grabs in the May 4 primary and Nov. 2 general election, as well as several school board seats.
The deadline for candidates to register is 12 p.m. Feb. 19. Filings, as of Friday afternoon, for local races were:

• Clark County Treasurer: Incumbent Janet Hurst, Democrat.

• Clark County Commissioner District 3: Incumbent Mike Moore and challengers John Perkins and John “Jack” Leuthart, all Democrats.

River Ridge moves forward with development plans
No sale has been finalized on either piece of land, as River Ridge owns the 16-acre parcel, and the adjacent 54-acre tract is owned by Crossdock Development, a Louisville-based company that specializes in developing properties on the order of millions of square feet.
