SELLERSBURG —
A Sellersburg church is launching a film festival for area youths.
The Dream, Believe, Dare, Do, Youth Film Festival sponsored by Restoration Christian Church in Sellersburg and is open to young filmmakers between 9 and 22 years old.
“We really want to encourage young people to consider making great films for a moral purpose,” said Restoration Christian Church Pastor Bob Hauselman in a press release.
The Restoration Christian Church Film Festival gives participants the opportunity to submit a short film based upon the “Dream Believe Dare Do” theme to be judged by local industry experts Chris Robinson, Ollie Ballew and Dan Lennox, producers of local film “Jackson’s Run.”
Criteria, guidelines and entry fee information for films “with a purpose” will be posted on Restoration’s website at restorationchristian.org. All films should be submitted by Jan. 11 at the RCC office. The film festival will be held Feb. 9 and will showcase all films.
Cash prizes and awards will be given in three different age categories along with audience favorite at this black tie, red carpet event. Other contests include best use of a prop and overall audience choice award.
