Mitchell wins KIAC Player of the Week again
IU Southeast junior Cameron Mitchell was named the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday. This is his fourth player of the week award of the season.
Mitchell averaged 26.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, three assists and 3.5 steals while leading the Grenadiers to a pair of conference wins last week. He connected on 68 percent (17-of-25) from the field and 62.5 percent (5-for-8) from behind the 3-point line.
The guard opened the week with 29 points, seven rebounds and five steals in a 95-80 win at Brescia University. He made all four 3-point attempts in the contest. Mitchell finished the week with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists in a 97-92 win against Asbury University.
Mitchell ranks second in scoring in the conference and 20th in NAIA Division II at 19.1 points per game.
IU Southeast is 17-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play. The Grenadiers will return to action tonight when they host Berea College at 7:30.

Net-Surfers winter training
The Net-Surfers soccer club will have free winter training on five consecutive Fridays from 6-7:15 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2796 Charlestown Road, New Albany. The training dates will be Jan. 25, Feb. 1, Feb. 8, Feb. 15 and Feb. 22.
The training is open to girls ages 8-11. Their dates of birth must be between Aug. 1, 2001 and July 31, 2005. The gym at Trinity United Methodist Church is located in the back.
