C’town to sell Class 3A sectional tickets
The Charlestown High School athletic department will be selling Class 3A Scottsburg Sectional tickets from Jan. 30-Feb. 6 in the school’s student service center. Tickets can be purchased on weekdays during that span from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Henryville Youth Sports sign-ups
Henryville Youth Sports will have baseball and softball sign-ups on the following dates from 2-4 p.m. at the Henryville Fire Department: Saturday, Feb. 2; Sunday, Feb. 3; Saturday, Feb. 9; Sunday, Feb. 10.
Both the baseball and softball leagues will be for players ages 7-12. The T-ball leagues will be for ages 4-6. There also will be junior high baseball and softball leagues for Henryville Junior High School students in grades 7-8.
For the T-ball and baseball/softball leagues ages 7-12, costs are $60 per child and $50 for each additional child in the same family. For junior high baseball and softball players, cost is $75 per player. Payment must be made at registration.

IU Southeast programs ranked high in preseason conference polls
Three IU Southeast athletic programs are ranked in the top two spots in their respective Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference preseason polls.
The Grenadiers’ softball team is No. 1 in the softball poll. IU Southeast went 29-17 last year and 18-2 in the KIAC. Last season, the Grenadiers won the KIAC Tournament title and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.
IU Southeast has a new coach this season in former Floyd Central High School softball skipper Joe Witten.
The Grenadiers’ baseball program has been picked second in the KIAC baseball preseason poll. IU Southeast finished second in the KIAC Tournament last season.
The Grenadiers’ men’s tennis team has been selected second in its KIAC preseason poll. IU Southeast went 12-9 overall and 4-1 in the KIAC during the 2011-12 season.

Harper, Koesters to be honored at IHSWCA Hall of Fame Banquet
Jeffersonville High School assistant wrestling coach Zach Harper and former News and Tribune sports editor Matt Koesters will be honored at the annual Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame Banquet on Sunday, Feb. 17 at Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria in Greenwood.
Harper will be named the association’s 2012 Assistant Coach of the Year, while Koesters, the News and Tribune’s current Clark County reporter, will receive the IHSWCA’s 2012 Media Award.

Salem Speedway season tickets on sale
Salem Speedway season tickets are currently selling for the 2013 racing season. They are $170 for reserved seats and $140 for non-reserved seating.
Season tickets are good for admission to all 2013 motorsports events at Salem Speedway, including the spring and fall ARCA races, the Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial sprint classic, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Midwest 150, the Firecracker 200, the Halloween 200 and other races.
