Charlestown was held to 189 yards of total offense and the Pirates turned the ball over twice, as they fell for just the second time this season, 20-14 on Friday night at Lawrenceburg.
Michael Baines ran for 112 yards on a touchdown, but the host Tigers got a pair of scoring runs by Mark Baker and also returned an interception for a touchdown in the victory.
Jordan Williams caught a 50-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, bringing Charlestown within 20-14, but the Pirates couldn’t get back into the end zone as they wrapped up the regular season 7-2 overall.
Lawrenceburg finished with 246 yards on the ground, enjoyed a 2:1 advantage in time of possession and had 15 first downs, while limiting Charlestown to just four total first downs in the contest.
Charlestown will begin sectional play next Friday when it plays host to Indian Creek at Dutch Reis Field. The Braves finished the regular season 9-0 after a 34-8 win over South Decatur on Friday.
