• Morgan Baumgartle (Ball State women’s swimming, Fr.) — top performance: eighth in the 400 individual medley at the Doug Coers Invitational last Friday and Saturday in Muncie, 4:55.05; notes: 10th in both the 200 IM (2:19.87) and 1,650 freestyle (19:30.3); The Cardinals placed first in the Coers Invite with 861 points.
• April Hill (Asbury women’s swimming, Fr.) — top performance: fourth in the 200 freestyle relay in a triangular meet against Milligan and host Sewanee last Saturday, 1:53.06; notes: fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.34).
• Janelle Nassim (Florida Atlantic women’s swimming, Jr.) — top performance: 23rd in the 100 breaststroke finals at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta last Saturday through Monday, 1:07.15; notes: 26th in the 100 breast preliminaries (1:07.54), 33rd in the 200 breast prelims (2:28.95), 57th in the 50 freestyle prelims (25.35) and 63rd in the 200 individual medley prelims (2:18.1).
• Lindsey Ragland (Louisville volleyball, Fr.) — notes: one dig in the Cardinals’ 3-2 victory over Notre Dame in the semifinals of the Big East Championship Tournament last Saturday at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville; Ragland and U of L won the Big East final the next day against Cincinnati, earning an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament; It was the Cardinals third conference tournament title.
• Katy Schad (Marshall volleyball, Fr.) — top performance: seven kills and seven digs in the Thundering Herd’s 3-0 loss to Rice last Friday in the first round of the Conference USA Championships in Houston; season-ending stats: 316 digs, 234 kills.

• Brandi Waller (Middle Tennessee State volleyball, Fr.) — notes: Despite not playing in any of the matches in last week’s Sun Belt Championships in Bowling Green, Ky., Waller celebrated with her teammates as they won the conference title. The Blue Raiders earned an automatic bid berth in the NCAA tournament, as they will make their fourth straight appearance in the “Big Dance.”

CLARK-FLOYD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Parkview wins eighth-grade title game; Highland Hills takes seventh-grade crown
Highland Hills’ seventh-grade boys and Parkview’s eighth-graders each won Clark-Floyd Tournament championships Thursday at Silver Creek Middle School.
The Highland Hills’ seventh-graders outscored Parkview 12-3 in the final 2:42 for a 34-31 victory. Parkview’s eighth-graders also earned a come-from-behind triumph with a 21-5 fourth quarter to avenge their only loss of the season, 63-50 over Silver Creek. -
HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Jeff claims a share of HHC title at Jennings, 57-55
The Jeffersonville boys’ basketball team captured a piece of its first Hoosier Hills Conference championship since the 2005-06 season on Thursday night, winning at Jennings County 57-55.
