HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL: Hawn, Barker lead Rock Creek to first win
Four Lions score in double figures in win over Borden
Four different Rock Creek Christian Academy players scored in double-figures as the Lions defeated two-time defending Sectional 62 champion Borden on Saturday.
Senior Ethan Hawn led the Lions with 18 points and sophomore Reece Barker added 17. Shawn Austin and Dontale Mayes scored 12 apiece.
The Lions outscored Borden 16-10 in the second quarter to take a 31-23 haltime lead. After the Braves cut the lead to 45-40 at the end of three period, Rock Creek pulled away in the fourth to secure its first victory.
Jacob Rich hit five 3-point shots and had a game-high 27 points for the Braves, who are 0-2.
Rock Creek (1-1) goes to Louisville to face Evangel on Tuesday.
Borden goes to Lanesville on Friday. The Eagles dropped their season opener on Saturday, 73-55 to Corydon Central.
