Kimmels to start side-by-side in today’s ARCA opener
Nine-time ARCA Racing Series champion Frank Kimmel and his nephew Will Kimmel will start side-by-side for today’s Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla. The race is ARCA’s season opener.
Frank Kimmel, a Clarksville native, qualified his No. 44 Toyota in 19th position in Friday’s qualifying session with a lap of 177.322 miles per hour. Will Kimmel, a Sellersburg resident and driver for Clarksville-based Kimmel Racing, will start 20th after posting a qualifying lap on Friday in his No. 68 Ford at 177.298 mph.
Watkinsville, Ga., native John Wes Townley won the pole at 181.313 mph. The 80-lap race will begin at 4:30 p.m. today and will be televised live on Speed.

Scribner grappler fourth at state
Scribner Middle School wrestler Tristen Dowell finished fourth at the Indiana Middle School State Championships earlier this month at New Castle High School.
Dowell posted a 5-2 record and pinned four of his opponents. Also competing for Scribner and representing New Albany at the meet were Jack Tull and Stephon Heron.
