SELLERSBURG — >>HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ SOCCER

Silver Creek meeting

The Silver Creek High School girls’ soccer team will have a meeting for interested girls and their parents in the Silver Creek High School cafeteria at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 23.

Conditioning and practice schedules will be handed out along with physical forms. Physicals must be turned in before practice begins.

The first practice will be at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 30 at the soccer field at Silver Creek Township Park in Sellersburg.

Kimmel places fifth at Iowa

Clarksville native Frank Kimmel finished fifth in the Prairie Meadows 200 on Friday night at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.

The nine-time ARCA Racing Series champion led 23 laps from lap 129-151 before being passed by eventual winner Alex Bowman on lap 152. Grant Enfinger finished second, followed by Chad Boat and Clay Rogers.

Henryville resident Darrell Basham placed 22nd, while Sellersburg resident Will Kimmel was 38th.

Frank Kimmel currently stands fourth in the ARCA point standings, 105 points behind leader Chris Buescher. ARCA’s next race will be next Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.

Bramble helps South defeat North

Recent Floyd Central High School graduate Kyle Bramble helped the South All-Stars defeat the North All-Stars in the Grange Insurance Indiana Football Coaches Association North-South All-Star Classic on Friday at North Central High School in Indianapolis.

Bramble, who will be playing at Dartmouth College next season, had three carries for 9 yards. The South now leads the all-time series, 25-21.
