Three IU Southeast women scored 18 points, but it was not enough for the Grenadiers to overtake No. 13 Taylor as the Trojans survived 75-73 on Saturday.
Ashmere Woods, Heather Wheat and Kortney Woods led the Grenadiers with 18 points apiece. Woods added 11 rebounds, Wheat had five assists and Woods chipped in with five blocks and three rebounds.
The game was tight throughout. There were 19 lead changes and ten ties. The Grenadiers (6-5) were done in by 19 turnovers, which stalled the offense down the stretch. The Trojans committed 10 turnovers in the game.
IU Southeast shot 51 percent for the game but only 26 percent from 3-point range.
Taylor (11-1) was led by Erika Redweik, who had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Becca Daniels and Kelci Freds each scored 13 and Shayna Wood added 11.
IU Southeast heads to St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Thursday for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
