... to Danny Jones, 48, of Charlestown. He recently found out he had a check for $212,000 coming his way from his insurance company, after a jury ruled the company’s suspicion of arson by Jones to his own house was unfounded.
And jeers to Erie Insurance Co. for saying it was odd that Jones was not at home when the fire occurred at about 5:30 — as if it’s illegal to run to the store early in the morning.
Jones was forced to live in a barn temporarily after the fire, but hopefully now will have enough cash to buy himself his dream home.

... to those evil deer and their knack for darting out in front of cars. Just kidding folks.
And jeers to humans for encroaching on the habitat of deer and driving or killing off natural predators, so we have a huge race of mini-deer. But, mostly jeers to the type of encroachment where the car meets the deer in a collision.
A recent insurance company study shows car vs. deer accidents are up by 22 percent in Indiana in the last five years. They are most prevalent in October and November — normally during dusk hours — so look out and slow down when you are out on the road.

... regarding the sidewalk at 218 and 226 E. Maple Street, Jeffersonville. The 226 address is a rental property with three apartments. These sidewalks need to be replaced.

HOWEY: Keeping Peyton in the Hoosier pantheon
The critics of keeping Manning suggest he would return to a team struggling to contend. I’m not buying that. The Colts were decimated for a second consecutive year with injuries, particularly on defense. With the top choice in each round, they can quickly reset, as San Francisco and Cincinnati did this year.
