Boney calls David Camm a murderer, says he won’t testify against him

At a press conference on Friday, Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson said he might call Charles Boney to testify against David Camm at a possible third murder trial.

Boney was convicted in 2006 of three counts of murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder and sentenced to 225 years in prison in the deaths of Camm’s wife and children. The Indiana Supreme Court decided not to hear Boney’s appeal, so Henderson said Boney no longer has his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

After the press conference, Boney called newsgathering partner WLKY-TV in Louisville and said he would not testify against Camm.

“Most recently, I’ve learned the prosecution team needs my testimony and I simply won’t do it,” Boney said in a telephone interview from the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. “I think confidential informants, rats and any types of snitches, I think they’re deplorable.

“I think that they’re at the bottom of the food chain and I simply won’t do it.”

Boney said he was at Camm’s home to give him a gun, but said he was innocent of murder. Boney argues that he should have only received a “fraction” of the time in prison as Camm has twice been sentenced to, only to have those sentences overturned.

“He’s a murderer,” Boney said. “He deserves to do the rest of his life behind bars. I’ve been wrongly convicted, although I did sell him the gun and everything. I should’ve only got a fraction of time.”
