JEERS
... to the self-serving votes by several New Albany council members to continue health insurance for themselves, even though they are part-time workers, have full-time jobs and the city is in financial crisis. While the savings wouldn’t fill the economic woes, it would have shown support to fellow government employees that have had salaries and benefits scrutinized or cut. Instead, the Council reaffirmed its do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do mentality. If we combine this decision with the vote by council members to avoid redistricting because it might impact their individual seats, I’m starting to notice a selfish pattern. I hope voters do as well.

... to the short-sighted decision by the New Albany City Council to not hire a grant writer. Maybe they feel that other city departments and local politicians will pick up the slack but the city needs new revenue streams and denying a revenue-creating position is a backwards move.
